Benjamin Taylor papers : letter, deed, and survey, 1791- 1811.

Two item collection consisting of documents concerning a land transaction. The first item is a Nov. 20, 1791, survey conducted for Joseph Hufman. The survey was for "one hundred acres of land on a military warrant no. 1885 on the waters of Brushcreek." On the back of the survey, Hufman transfered the land surveyed to Benjamin Taylor in 1798. The second item is a March 15, 1811, letter written to Taylor by James Wright. Wright informs Taylor that William Haley had been assigned a warrant, no. 1885, upon which a patent was issued to Daniel Buckley on May 8, 1800. Wright continues on to say that at the first opportunity he will apply at the Virginia Land Office and obtain a patent for Taylor.
